Short-Term Lets Licensing Legislation has been approved
We are disappointed to announce that the Short Term Lets Licensing legislation was approved yesterday by the Scottish Parliament’s Local Government and Communities Committee.
The Committee will now produce a report to Parliament on the two SSI’s. The was made available on Friday 5 February. The SSI’s will also be voted on by all MSPs in plenary at a date to be confirmed.
Thank you to all of you who raised your concerns to the Committee in written evidence.
A working group is being set up to advise the Scottish Government on guidance for local authorities on how the Licensing Scheme will be implemented. Primary concern remains the costs of compliance for self-catering and B&B operators. Through our close contact with the working group, SkyeConnect will support and inform our members as the legislation progresses and the guidance from the working group materialises. We will also communicate with the Highland Council and lobby on behalf of our membership to ensure that they are well represented and supported throughout.
