The keynote speaker at this year’s SkyeConnect Annual General Meeting – to be held online on Tuesday 2nd December at 1000 – is VisitScotland’s Director of Industry and Destination Development, Riddell Graham
The keynote speaker at this year’s SkyeConnect Annual General Meeting – to be held online on Tuesday 2nd December at 1000 – is VisitScotland’s Director of Industry and Destination Development, Riddell Graham. He will be addressing members on the importance of Destination Management Organisations (DMO’s) and the role they will play in the recovery of the tourism sector following the Coronavirus pandemic.
Mr Graham says he is looking forward to talking to SkyeConnect members.

“I am delighted to be involved in Skye Connect’s AGM. Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) play a hugely important role within Scotland’s tourism sector – never more so than this year.
“As well as helping to promote and market their region, DMOs provide vital, co-ordinated support for the tourism industry, uniquely tailored to the requirements of their local area.
“They look at ways to support not just their members, but also the local communities in which their tourism businesses exist. Skye Connect has played a key role in supporting the recovery of its local tourism industry as we hopefully look towards a more positive 2021.”
SkyeConnect Chair, Dave Till, is delighted to have secured such a high-profile speaker for this year’s AGM.
“Visit Scotland have been instrumental in keeping us informed of the trends in visitor perceptions and attitudes. We are looking forward to Riddle sharing his thoughts about the future of tourism in Scotland.”
Following Riddell Graham’s presentation, the formal elements of the Annual General Meeting will take place including presentations from the Chair, Project Manager, Alistair Danter, Finance Officer, Rob Ware and Communications Manager, Simon Cousins.
Members will also vote on the appointment of five new Directors to the Board following a recruitment process.
Anyone with an interest in the work of SkyeConnect and the island’s tourism and hospitality industry is invited to join the AGM at 1000am on Tuesday 8th December by clicking on the following Zoom link. https://zoom.us/meeting/87034332730
